Start with the setting

Choose how to use Starz

Choose your setting to see how Starz could work with your group. Lessons and support can be adapted to your learners.

School or college

A structured route for enrichment, enterprise and wider skills.

Use a clear sequence of learner tasks, discussion prompts and practical outputs without asking staff to create a programme from scratch.

  • Enterprise or money-skills sessions
  • Enrichment and project learning
  • Clubs, transition and careers activity
Sensible next stepMap the pathway to your timetable and cohort.Plan learning for your group

Alternative provision

Practical, adult-led learning with room to adjust the pace.

Choose smaller steps, repeat activities when useful and collect tangible evidence of participation, decisions, communication and reflection.

  • Smaller or supported cohorts
  • Confidence and engagement routes
  • Portfolio and review conversations
Sensible next stepDiscuss learner needs before confirming delivery.Plan learning for your group

Youth or community setting

A flexible route from first idea to community showcase.

Run the learning as a regular programme, an enterprise club or a focused project that can culminate in a small showcase or business fair.

  • Youth groups and community programmes
  • Enterprise clubs and project sprints
  • Showcases, stalls and local events
Sensible next stepChoose the outcome first, then set a realistic pace.Plan learning for your group

Trust or multi-site

Start with a rollout conversation, not a one-size-fits-all checkout.

Agree learner numbers, delivery roles, support and evidence expectations before licences or additional provision are proposed.

  • Several cohorts or delivery teams
  • Shared implementation expectations
  • A staged or multi-site rollout

Practical learning

What learners will create

See the four practical outputs first, then follow the sample sequence to understand how learners move from curiosity to something they can explain and share.

A business idea

A useful problem, an audience and a clear response—not an abstract worksheet.

Money decisions

Simple costs, pricing, value and profit choices a learner can explain.

A message or pitch

A structured way to communicate the idea, listen and respond to questions.

Evidence and reflection

Saved tasks and reflections that make participation and progress visible.

A sample learning sequence

Each stage can expand or contract around the setting. The purpose is consistent: learners make decisions and can explain what they did.

Your learner dashboard

Track learning and progress

Your educator workspace brings learner activity, progress, assessment attempts, questions and certificates into one place—so support decisions do not begin with another spreadsheet.

Curriculum connections

Support your curriculum

Support UK curriculum learning through budgeting and money decisions, enterprise projects, numeracy, discussion and presentation. In England, these activities can supplement citizenship financial education, mathematics and spoken English; educators select the objectives and adapt the work to their nation, key stage and learners.

Evidence that stays useful: connect each session to a learning objective, collect a budget, business idea or pitch, and use quiz attempts and reflection to identify the next teaching step. Review participation, completion and demonstrated skills over time rather than relying on headline impact figures.

Course completion records participation; it does not by itself demonstrate curriculum mastery or a recognised qualification.

Track progress against learning goals

Review course progress and recent engagement at cohort and learner level, then use filtered views and scheduled summaries to support monitoring conversations and reports.

See where learners need help

See quiz results and repeat attempts, review answers and identify the topics that need another explanation—not simply a pass-or-fail label.

Answer course questions

Respond to learner questions alongside the learning journey instead of reconstructing the issue from a separate email chain.

See completed activities

Monitor completed learning and manage course certificates when the agreed completion threshold has been met.

Lesson planning

Ready-to-use lesson and session plans

Use the lesson plans alongside the online course and adapt them to your learners.

Delivery and safeguarding

Review the practical responsibilities behind delivery, learner evidence and safeguarding before deciding whether the licence fits your setting.

Adults manage learner access

Your setting chooses the timetable, supervision and adaptation appropriate for its learners. Nu FOCUS-led contact or delivery is never silently implied by a software licence.

Agree responsibilities before starting

Delivery should sit within your safeguarding, consent and data-protection procedures. Any separate mentoring, coaching or live support is scoped before it begins.

Examples of learner progress

Use learner work, progress, attempts, decisions, pitches and reflection to build a credible picture of participation and development.

Send a question with your plan
Who is the educator licence for?+

It is designed for schools, colleges, alternative provision, youth groups and community organisations that want an adult-led route into enterprise, financial literacy, communication and future skills.

Which ages does the current learning suit?+

The wider YoungStarz and SuperStarz ecosystem is intended to serve ages 7 to 17 through age-ranged pathways. The currently published combined Starz course is labelled for ages 10 to 17, so a setting planning for younger learners should confirm the content available for its intended start date before purchasing.

What does the £199 monthly licence include?+

The core route includes 20 learner seats included, the Starz learning pathway, educator delivery guidance, session-planning support, learner tasks, evidence prompts and a route towards a showcase. Optional live delivery, mentoring, coaching and accreditation remain separate.

Can we pay monthly or annually?+

Yes. The monthly route is £199 per month. Paying for 12 months upfront is £1,990, equivalent to receiving two months free. Renewal and cancellation terms are confirmed at checkout.

What if we need more than 20 learner seats?+

The first 20 seats are included. Additional seats are currently calculated at £9 each per month, or ten monthly payments when paid annually. The page calculator shows the total before checkout.

Can we use Starz as weekly sessions or a shorter project?+

Yes. The pathway can be planned as regular sessions, an enterprise club or a focused project. The setting remains responsible for choosing a pace, supervision model and timetable appropriate for its learners.

Does the licence include mentoring, coaching or accreditation?+

Not automatically. Those are connected Nu FOCUS routes and must be explicitly included in a written proposal or purchase summary before they form part of delivery.

How are safeguarding and learner data handled?+

Educator-led use should operate within the setting’s existing safeguarding, supervision, consent and data-protection procedures. Any Nu FOCUS-led contact, mentoring or live delivery is scoped separately so responsibilities and data handling are clear before it starts.

Can one licence cover several sites?+

The calculator covers learner-seat numbers for one purchasing organisation. A trust or multi-site rollout should still use the cohort brief so implementation, account ownership and delivery responsibilities are agreed clearly.
