A useful scenario is not a perfect prediction. It makes assumptions visible so they can be tested and improved.

Use rounded examples. Do not enter account, card or confidential family information.

Pressure Test

Test different costs and sales

Choose a safe test. The starting figures stay unchanged while the comparison shows how one risk could affect the result.

How it works

How the calculator works

The tool uses only the figures entered. It deliberately avoids an “investor readiness” score because a simple calculator cannot judge a person, idea or real investment.

SalesPrice × number of sales

Direct costsCost per sale × number of sales

Monthly resultSales − direct costs − other monthly costs

MarginMonthly result ÷ sales × 100

Break-even salesOther monthly costs ÷ amount left per sale

Months to match supportStarting support ÷ positive monthly result

A real venture will usually be more complicated. Timing, unsold stock, taxes, payment fees, delivery, returns, insurance and time spent may all change the result.

Useful answers

Calculator questions

The simulator teaches assumptions and trade-offs. It cannot verify demand, costs, legal duties or whether a real venture will succeed.

Does the simulator use real money?

No. It is an educational tool for testing safe examples and assumptions. It does not move money, recommend an investment or predict whether a business will succeed.

What do the results mean?

The results apply simple formulas to the figures entered. They show estimated sales, direct costs, fixed costs, monthly result, margin and the number of sales needed to cover fixed costs. Real ventures may have other costs, taxes, timing and risks.

Who can use the simulator?

It is designed for young people learning about enterprise, with adult or educator support where appropriate. A learner can begin with the example figures before testing their own safe scenario.

Are the figures sent to Nu FOCUS?

No. The simulator does not ask for a name or contact details and does not send the scenario to Nu FOCUS. A visitor can choose to keep a draft on the device for up to 30 days or clear it at any time.

How does the simulator connect with the Pitch Builder?

Choose Save and use in my pitch to carry the current example into the Pitch Builder on the same device. The figures remain editable and should be checked before they are presented.
